Galileo 34 – Lincoln 28

Galileo’s varsity squad came back in the 4th quarter to take the lead and then denied the mustang’s four tries at the end zone from the lion’s 20. Pat Ale collected a sack on 4th down with an assist from defensive end, Jessie Armas, to end the game.

Down 28-26 with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Galileo drove 80 yards and chewed up 8 and a half minutes to take the lead on quarterback, Dylan Nelson’s option keeper. The lion’s would then punch in the 2-point try to make it a 34-28 game before Lincoln worked their way up the field to the lion’s 20.

The win over Lincoln assured Galileo a 3-way tie for first place in the AAA along with Washington and Lowell. More importantly, this win solidifies the lions a spot in the 2009 playoffs, ending an 8 year drought.
