Galileo’s non-league headliner will be an inner-city tilt in week 1 with the Sacred Heart Irish who is as they say, “right up the block”. Tamalpais will visit Galileo for the season opener in week 0 prior to that game. The Lions will visit De Anza in week 2 for the third installment of this matchup with each winning a home game in the past 2 seasons.

The Lions open the season with a scrimmage at St. Ignatius before facing Mills again and Berean Christian for the third time. Gonzales was a late add to replace an earlier opponent. This 2011 season is filled with youth on the varsity roster with enough sophomores to start a game.
After losing 2 star players, Galileo attempts a repeat in 2010 but fell short in a playoff loss, losing by 6 in a valiant effort.
Galileo’s historic run to their 16th city championship happened here in the 2009 season. The varsity team finished with an 8–1 record in league, 9–3 overall.
