In his 5th season at Galileo, Marcus Blacksher Jr. has been promoted to associate head coach of the varsity team. His main role will be coördinating the varsity offense and working with player’s academic progress. Stephen Carton benefited from the change, gaining the role of frosh soph head coach for this season. Coach Mark Huynh will make a return to coördinating the varsity defense and retain the role of coördinating special teams for both squads. Additional coaches are currently slogging through the paper trail.
With the summer sessions over with, the Lions will take the field for the first day of practice on Tuesday, August 1st. All incoming freshmen are welcome to attend (2 rules to know; no red on the field and no profanity). All players need a physical to participate. All info and announcements for the 2017 campaign will be posted here.
Coach Mark Huynh will be leading the program into his 8th varsity season. Coach Blacksher will be tasked with coördinating the offense and Coach Carton, the defense. Returning to help with the line is Anthony Lam.

The 2014 season features a new FS head coach (Blacksher Jr.) and coach Mark Huynh’s 6th season at the helm of this program.

It’s now-or-never for the class of 2014 who has gone from no playoffs in their sophomore varsity season to losing last year in the first round and now, looking for redemption and their place in Galileo football history, will be chasing that Turkey Day brunch meeting at Kezar.
As spring football closes, all participants can help make the program better by filling out this evaluation. It takes less than 10 minutes but the impact will be lasting. Please make an effort to include additional comments at the end of the evaluation. All info will be anonymous when shared with the coaching staff.
